                    Intro to IT

                    DATES COMING AFTER EASTER

                    1 session a week  for 5 weeks (3 hour sessions)

                    Ring to book your place.


                    It's ideal for learners who have no or very little computer skills


                    Over the course you will learn how to:


                    • Use a computer

                    • Make sense of the language used

                    • Create, save and print documents

                    • Learn how to use Microsoft Office

                    • Set up E-mails


                    Microsoft Office Applications

                    This course develops your word ,Internet and email skills

                    Its designed for learners with a basic knowledge of computers


                    You will learn One or more of the following :

                    • Create and send Emails

                    • use publisher
                    • Search the internet
                    • Change Word documents for example CV or create invitation
                    • Use simple autosums using excel


                    Communication and Self confidence

                    Maths Level 1 & 2

                    Functional Mathematics Entry 2 & 3 & Levels 1 and 2


                    The classes are held every Friday 9.30 - 12.00 you can join throughout the year just  give us a call

                     

                    Functional Mathematics Level 1 and Level 2 aims to promote mathematical thinking and transferable skills. 


                    Students will also cover:


                    • Maths that is useful in everyday situations and the world of work.
                    • Material which emphasises the benefits of maths to people who have previously been 'turned off' by the subject.


                    The Functional Mathematics specification is suitable for students of various ages and from diverse backgrounds.
                    The Level 1 qualification in Functional Mathematics provides a good basis for progression to Level 2 in
                    Functional Mathematics and GCSE.



                    English Level 1 & 2

                    Tuesday 1.30pm - 3.30 pm

                    This course helps students develop applied skills in English, enabling them to get the most from life, learning and work. Using separate tasks, it assesses:  Entry 3 to level  1


                    • Reading
                    • Writing
                    • Speaking, listening and communication.


                    The course is suitable for those who can show the outlined skills at the appropriate level.
                    Students can take different units of the qualification in different terms, depending on the demand of the unit.


                    Introduction to Volunteering

                    • learn to identify hidden disabilites
                    • Learn about safeguarding and prevent (and gain valuable certificates)  especially around vulnerable adults
                    • Understand the policies and procedures around volunteering

                    Working in a office environment

                    Starting 13th February - 9.30am till 12.00pm

                    The course is FREE and will for run for for 8 weeks (2.5 hours per session)


                    This course will cover the following topics:


                    • Using the different types of office equipment.
                    • How to use Microsoft applications.
                    • How to create basic office documents.
                    • Build confidence in working in a team environment

                    ESOL - At Crosland Moor Learning Centre


                    Class runs every Thursday & Friday  9.30 - 11.30

                    (please note you need to attend both sessions)

                    Class Starts again 17/01/2019 (However you can join throughout the year)

                    This course is designed for learners who have a very basic knowledge of English and wish to improve their skills

                    There are various levels - Entry 1, 2 & 3  up to level 1


                    Learners will complete three units:

                    • Writing
                    • Speaking and listening
                    • Reading


                    Please note the course is run by Kirklees College and there may be a charge depending on your circumstances and benefits

                    Food Hygiene

                    DATES COMING AFTER EASTER

                    Course runs for 6 Weeks (3 hours per session) with 2 sessions a week on a Tuesday and Thursday 9.30-12.30


                    The course will allow you to gain a in depth knowledge into the food hygiene requirements within the industry as well as learning more about nutrition for healthy living. Once you have completed the course, you will receive a level 1 or level 2 certificate in food hygiene which will help you gain employment or volunteering roles in the future.

                     


                    Prepare for employment

                    Course runs for 5 Weeks (3 hours per session)


                    In this course you will learn how to use a computer for employment  and be more confident when preparing for an interview

                    We will help you to:

                    • Learn how to search and apply for jobs using keywords

                    • Create, save and print employment documents

                    • Understand how to stay safe online
